Remedy for obssessive compulsive disorder?

Hi. I am curious to know a good remedy for OCD. I believe I have OCD and chronic worrying/anxiety. I worry about every small thing. This has been going on since my early 20's and I am now 30. Nothing really seems to help. I cant make myself stop worrying and obssessing about things. Some of my big fears are germs, chemicals, broken glass, or basically anything that can be a (perceived) danger to myself or my family. I worry obssessively about my kids also and am always thinking something bad is going to happen to them. Another worry I have is that I wont be able to get sleep and that I wont be able to function and take care of my kids. It seems like I worry about really small things that no one else would ever think to worry about. I always have to check the locks and oven, at night to make sure everything is turned off. I have trouble falling asleep alot of the time because I have alot of anxiety or am just worrying. I know the worrying does no good but I cant seem to stop it.

As for the rest of my personality, I am not really good at meeting new people and making friends, though when I get to know someone well I will be more outgoing and talkative. I tend to be prone to depression also, probably from not having many close friends.

Is there a remedy out there that sounds like it would be right for me? I appreciate any suggestions!!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
There are several remedies which come to mind , Ars., Sil, Calc.

Please tell more about your general symptoms as well e.g. food cravings/aversions , temperature/weather preferences. Also mention your general nature, how are you with spending money , and fears in more detail.

Are you genuinely sympathetic to other people's problems or most of your worries are about yourself ?

Thanks sameer. As for food cravings, that would probably be for ice cream or anything sweet.. I dont really have many aversions.. I prefer warm weather, like spring.. I dont like it really cold or really hot. I think that I am genuinely sympathetic to other people's problems.. I tend to worry most about close family members and especially my kids. I do worry about myself at times but not to the extent I worry about others... I hope this helps.. Let me know if theres anything else you would like to know. Thanks!

And, is your general temperament mild/yielding or you tend to be obstinate ?

Lets say it was a stranger in trouble, e.g. something on tv, will you feel their pain as well and feel bad for them or the concern is there for only close family members ?

Any fear of pointed objects or pins ?

How are you at public speaking ?

Any other mental symptoms or fears ?

My general temperament is mild for the most part, though I can have a bad temper at times. The worry and concern that I have is mainly for close family members. I do have a fear of small, sharp, objects, just because I worry that they could somehow hurt my children if played with. I dont fear them for myself though. I am definitely not good at public speaking. I am very introverted and am shy around people I dont know. I have alot of irrational fears. I seem to make up dangers from any situation that no one else would even think of... I hope this helps..

How is your thirst and drinking pattern , how much water do you drink in 1 attempt ?

How are you with spending money ?

How fastidious are you ?

Any perfectionist tendencies ?

I think my drinking and thirst are about normal. I drink an average amount of water.. I am not a big spender, but I do tend to spend more than I probably should at times.. I can be a perfectionist at times. I like to have things a certain way.. I dont like not doing a job right..Thanks again..

Have you ever tried a remedy named Arsenic Album ?

Also wondering, would thuja be a good remedy for OCD? I am reading about it being used for it. I only ask because I have some on hand (for my son) though have not used it for myself yet.. Also, thuja is good for toenail fungus also right?

This is not how we prescribe , Thuja for OCD , Arsenic for hypochondria..

This is called 'this for that' homeopathy, and is never going to be useful as the prescription has to be based on the totality, and not just the name of the disease. I see no elements of Thuja in your case.

There are many remedies which can be used for OCD, and I think your case is closest to Arsenic Album.

So, my advice would be to take just 3 doses of Arsenic Album 6c equally spaced for 1 day only and update me in 4 days after the doses.
