Can homeopathy cure a hernia?

I'm having symptoms of a strain in my abdomen -- a burning sensation by my (old) appendix scar. I did strain myself lifting and figured that since I use homeopathy successfully on a frequent basis, maybe a homeopathic remedy can fix this whether it's a strain OR the beginning of a small hernia. Any suggestions what remedy I should try?

Thank you,

The hernia in your case has been caused due to an artificial change in the sense that the superficial fascia over the abdomen at one point had to be cut through to remove your appendix and due to the slackening of the fascia over the area the abdominal contents are protruding out of the old scar internally.

There can be no Homoeopathic remedies for the same for the above reason.

Hiatus hernia led me to homeopathy. I was suggested surgery in 1984 but with homeopathic remedies I got better adn now in homeopathy since 1985.

general remedies are Nux,Calc,Phos,Bell etc but go for a remedy covering your total symptoms.

Hiatus hernia can be cured with Homoeopathy. There is a difference betweeen the two hernias and medical knowledge will reveal that it is a misnomer.

I have a hernia in upper right groin area. Appears to be in the area:

http://www.hernia.org

References as femoral or inguinal. I am genarally opposed to sergery, but have been told that it must be done by surgery.

Is this the only way? The "bulge" is not always there, it appears only when internal pressure is applied.

Is there an alternate cure/remeday to bring about healing for my problem.

Thanks,

Shane-

I have had a hernia in the groin area after lifting something. I have been taking three homeopathic remedies recently - Sep 10, Lycopodium 50 M, and Sulfur 10 M. I noticed that my hernia has been reduced. Could there be a connection between homeopathy and the receding of this hernia? Does homeopathy help with this?

I have used Nat Phos 6x when I was suffering from Inguinal Hernia on both right and left sides. I noticed that the Hernia was not visible after the Nat Phos and believe that the reason was due to the food being whisked down by this remedy which is known to accelerate peristalysis. It is the slow progress of food in the gut that enables it to protrude in the hernia. This may not be true always in all cases, but I believe that it is a reason for the protrusion of the bowel as a hernia.

A word of caution however is that if the hernia descends into the testes or does not reduce when one lies flat in bed, surgery must be considered.

Temporary relief can be obtained by wearing a hernia belt which has pads to keep the area tight from the outside to prevent the hernia from popping out.

I would suggest that those who are suffering from this ailment use Nat Phos 6x (Biochemic) dose 2 tablets after lunch and dinner and check the effect that this remedy has on the hernia. It is safe to be used for as long as you feel that it is doing some good and is well worth trying instead of surgery. A bonus is that it will reduce weight by about 1 pound per week and will stabilize in about 6 months when no further reduction of weight will occur.

My 2 Hernias were sutured from inside when I was opened up for my
Retropubic Proststatectomy in 2002.

It is always possible to treat a condition to obviate an operation.

Hernias (and cataract) are a prime instance of the Psoric miasm.

Do some investigation and ignore orthodox advice -- they may be well meaning - or money orientated .

Homeopathy is my hope. I actually was not taking the remedies for the hernia. I was being honest with my homeopath and myself about things I wanted changed in my life. And she gave me these remedies and then I noticed the reduction.
I do not know the differences between the hernias really. But generally even before homeopathy I tried an energy healing it did little compared to homeopathy.
As far as Orthodox doctors, they only care about money in general. They won't treat you in America if you have no health insurance. I do not have it. And I do not have a lot of money.

So have you heard of people reversing a hernia after homeopathic treatment?

I remember trying that belt and then got rid of it. It wasn't doing anything for me. It was too high. While the hernia is rather low compared to where the belt would hold. So I just tie up the hernia as much as I can.

I discovered that I have made an error in my post above.

Please replace word testes with SCROTUM

My hernia is invisible when I lie down and often does not come out until about an hour after waking. It is currently about 1/3rd of its initial size that it was when I first got it in June.

All the more reason not to consider surgery especially if it is on the right side.

I remember that I too got annoyed with the belt but used one of the pads which I placed above the bulge so that my Jockey under pants put pressure on it which was sufficient to keep it from popping.

I am going to increase my consumption of the remedy lycopodium. My homeopath said it should give me some further improvement. I hope to God she is right.

I have been recently told by my doctor that I have "Inguinal" Hernia. There is very slight bulge which is visible only if I am standing up and looking down. I was asked to consult a surgeon for a second opinion. I fear the surgeon might say I need surgery. Is there a Homeopathic remedy for this? What can I do to correct this? What would be the turnaround time for me to receover from this?

I personally have had some success with the combination of lycopodium and a supplement called hernease. I, frankly, had more of a benefit from Hernease. There is a similar product called Hawthornia. Anyway, I was recommended to take lycopodium in the 50 dosage a few times a day to get the maximum effect. Anyway, you can check out those supplements as well.
My hernia hasn't gone away, but the swelling has reduced by half at this stage. For me, that is definite progress. I am still taking the supplements. I have finished 6 bottles of hernease so far.

Sep 10, Lycopodium 50 M, and Sulfur 10 M. can you kindly ....give me the full name of Sep 10 medicine and sulfur 10M is it just Sulfur or it has any other name too.
Thankx.....

Re: Can homeopathy cure a hernia? From BASILEUS [Log on to view profile] on 2006-09-17
It was regular sulfur. I found the key to helping reduce it somewhat was Lycopodium 50 M. But you would have to take it several times a day and for quite a while and there is no guarantee of a cure. If your symptoms are at an early stage, then you could try the Chinese herbal remedy called Hernease or Hawthornia. I found Lycopodium helpful and also those Chinese herbal remedies. I am not sure, it is reduce maybe 75%.
