tinnis driving me nuts

Hello, I'm wondering if someone can help me. I have terrible ringing in the ears that prevents me from getting a good night's sleep. It is also there during the day, but it bothers me mostly in the night.

The ringing seems to be louder on the left side, but I also get the sensation that it comes from the back of my head, which I know sounds silly, but that is how it feels.

Right now, I am also suffering from some pain in my left ear. I don't usually have ear pain (usually only after a cold), but I had a terrible cold last week, and it started to go into my ears, so, I took some sil 30c.

The sil removed the ear pain and it got rid of the ringing within 24 hours, but then a few days later, I had an accpupuncture treatment, (I had started seeing an accpuncturist for the tinnitis.) and the ringing came back the day after the accpuncture treatment.

The accpuncturist told me I needed to keep going to treatments otherwise the ringing would come back. But the accupuncture treatment seems to have antidoted the remedy.

So, I then tried taking the sil 30c again 2 days ago, hoping it would get rid of the ringing again, but it did not get rid of the ringing this time. ( However, the sil 30c has given me tremendous relief from chronic constipation, which I've had since birth. )

The reason the ear pain came back is because I tried cleaning the wax out of my ears with warm olive oil, because I read that removing ear wax helps with tinnitis, but all it did was make my left ear hurt again.

So now i have ringing in the ears and left ear pain.

I know homeopathy works for me, because used to have terrible manic depression (hospitalized 3 times with mania), but my manic depression has been cured by a combination of remedies over the last year or two. But those remedies never really helped the ringing in my ears.

I also have congenital hypothyroidism; I was born without a thyroid gland.

The only medicine I take on a daily basis now is my thryoid - dessicated thyroid.

Any ideas? Do you think I should try the sil 30c again since it helped once? Or should I try something different? Do you know why the sil 30c would help the tinnitis after the first time I took it, but not the second time?

Thanks,
N

Hi, has the sic 30c helped you again with this problem? My 10 year old kid started having a similar issue and has suffered from tinnitus whenever he had a cold. What did you do finally to get rid of it? Apart from this tinnitus issue he doesn't have thyroid issues or any depression issues..or any other issues. But the ringing pain does hurt him extremely when he has it!

Dear ladymam,

In homeopathy, everyone can have a different remedy depending
on their symptom picture and overall totality- meaning physical,
mental, emotional, what makes things better and worse details.

So if your son has this ringing and pain only when he has a cold,
you can do two things: Ask someone to take his case now, even if
not sick to raise his overall health, or wait until he has this again
and post then.

You need to do a new thread on this that is just your treatment
thread for him.

you can get good action from a partially similar remedy once or twice which is why silicea probably did not act second time. However it may be on account of inappropriate potency also. Changing the potency generally works in such cases. In still other cases it requires an intercurrent remedy like Sulphur, Psorinum, Medorrhinum, Thuja, Syphillinum, or tuberculinum to get the remedy to work again. Assuming in your case that silicea was only partially similar I would say a dose of Sulphur 200 would be in order.

Telescope,

fyi the post on silicea is from 2008, so
I think this issue is probably resolved.
