Disturbed sleep

My 5 1/2 month old son suffers from reflux. I recently gave him Ipecac 30c x 3 days and it really helped with his reflux symptoms. BUT is just caught a virus with fever and stomachache. He also broke out in a rash on his abdomen. The fever is gone but he is waking from naps and at night with tummy pain. He sleeps on his tummy(because of the reflux) but when he seems to get these episodes of tummy pain he digs his little feet into the matress and flips over onto his back and screams. The only way to get him back to sleep is to nurse him but then his tummy hurts worse because he is not hungry. He is also now eating rice cereal. Could this be causing the tummy pain??? His stools are slightly formed and green. No offensive odor. He does not pass gas but I think if he did he might feel better.

Dr. Tahira, Thank you soooo much. My son is feeling much better and is sleeping 9-10 straight each night. One more question. He his intolernat of cow milk protein in my diet. Since he is breastfed I have eliminated it from my diet but it is a struggle for me to find the right things to eat. I there anything that I can give him to help with the cow's milk intolernace??? His reflux worsens and he is very fussy when I have any cows milk. Thank you again.

Dear Mullek,
Don't worry soon ur son will be able to digest milk and milk products.(INSHAAllAh)
Just keep posting and let me know about his condition carefully because i can't see him.I recieved ur mail, inspite of my hectic schedule i will treat ur son on individuality basis.
Can u describe what type of aggravation occures with milk?
or what are his particular symptoms of milk allergy?

Dr. Tahira, THANK YOU. Let me first start by saying that my other two children were the same way and eventually were able to tolerate milk however they both had eczema and peanut allergy now. I thought by not exposing my youngest one to milk until later and by breastfeeding for a year I could help him. When I did ingest cow milk his reflux was worse. He drooled alot, arched his back, refused to nurse. Slept poorly and was very fussy. Usually he is a very happy baby but if his tummy is upset so is he. I have not tried any cow milk in quite some time.He refuses to take a bottle of pumped breastmilk which has me very concerened because I have to leave him overnight soon.

Give him Carboveg 30c once a day for three days and note his symptoms.

Should I give this to him as I slowly introduce milk into my diet?? Right now he is very content since giving him the colo. 30c. I am afraid to rock the boat if you will but I am interested in seeing if he can tolerate cows milk.

Dr. Tahira, I still have not tried the carboveg 30c yet. Now my son has his reflux symptoms back. It is worst when I am feeding him his rice cereal. He arches his back abd cries and reaches behind his head almost as if he is trying to scratch the back of his neck. Yesterday he was very fussy because he had not had a stool in 2 days. Once he went it has partially formed like playdough consistency and part liquid brown in color. He felt much better after that.

I would like to mention that for intolerence of milk in babies / young children...pl. try Aethusa 30 C

The med is specific for that type of constitution.

Aethusa C

The characteristic symptoms relate mainly to the brain and nervous system, connected with gastro-intestinal disturbance. Anguish, crying, and expression of uneasiness and discontent, lead to this remedy most frequently in disease in children, during dentition, summer complaint, when, with the diarrhoea, there is Marked inability to digest milk, and poor circulation. Symptoms set in with Violence.

Dr. Tahira, Thank you for getting back to me I was away so unable to read reply until today. My son is back to being fussy/arching his back and something new he is doing is scratching at the back of his head and ears. It is almost like he is trying to pull his hair. I found scratch marks on the back of his neck when he woke up from his nap today. Also lately when I have been putting him to sleep for the night he wakes again 1 hour to 1 1/2 after and cries in pain/arches his back and scratches the back of his head. He has been more gassy and stools are brown and loose. Should I still try the Nux 6x???? Also, should I give him oatmeal instead of rice cereal???
