Morton's Neuroma

I have a very painful foot, mostly on the bottom, seems to be located in the foot bones, in between the big toe and first one beside it. Doctor called it a Morton's Neuroma and suggested a gel pad for shoes. Didn't help at all and as a matter of fact, foot pain is now much worse!

I'm not sure if there are any rememdies, exercises, etc. I can try. Doc suugested trying to pick up items with the toes but this is just too painful.

I hope I don't have to resort to surgery, but it's not looking too hopeful.

Has anyone else dealt with this problem?
