Sepia and depression

Ive been experiencing moderate depression for about a year now. I have taken some common anti-depressants that have not helped at all. I would like to try a homeopathic approach, but know very little about it. From what I can get from this and other websites, Sepia seems to be the way to go for my symptoms (which include complete loss of libido, sharp headaches that come and go, constant sadness, and always being cold among other things.). Id like to get some feedback about this and suggestions on what dose I should take.

Also, I have two other problems that, from browsing these forums, I feel may benefit from a homeopathic approach. I have terrible allergies to almost any animal and, as such, have been unable to have a pet. With these allergies come asthma, however the asthma is a problem without the allergies as well. Any suggestions for either would be appreciated.

Thank you for any help you can provide. I look forward to learning more about homeopathy and its uses.

Hello,

Loss in libido , sadness and being cold can correspond to a number of medicines.

Are you sure Sepia is the best choice for you ?

If you can post some details about yourself as a person, maybe we can help you ascertain whether Sepia is the best choice. Do not be in a hurry to take the dose till you are sure.

If you can write about the following points , it would help me greatly.

1) Any life-style change or event you can correlate with trigerring of the chief complaint.

2)Any mental/ emotional stress and any anxieties you have in general. Knowing about your general temperament would also help greatly. Any fears you might have should be mentioned.

3)Any peculiar dreams you might be having. Any peculiar habit of yours which you think differentiates you as a person will also help.

4) Any food cravings/aversions

5) Diseases that run in your family.

Hi Sameer, thank you for your response. To answer your questions, I am a 27 year old female currently working full time and going to school. I like to play video games in what little spare time I have, and have been trying to get the the gym more often. I cannot recall any lifestyle changes that correspond with the depression like symptoms Ive been experiencing. It started before I decided to go back to school, when I was only working. I have stress over a few things, mainly financial debts I accumulated earlier in life that I am now trying to pay off as best I can. Emotional stress comes from my boyfriend, who, although he has been VERY patient with me, is getting a little frustrated with my lack of libido, as am I. I do have fears of him leaving me. I also get very anxious in social situations where there is no one I know. Most of the time to the point where I won't even attend events or outings when I don't have someone to go with. I hadn't been able to go back to school earlier because I feared the social aspect of it (group projects, lab partners, etc). I had a few bad experiences the first time I went to college with people not wanting to be my lab partner, and had a bad dorm situation. I cannot recall any specific dreams Ive had recently, although about 2 or 3 months ago I had a dream that my boyfriend and I were on a beach being chased by a man who eventually caught up with us and put my and another girl in a lightly fenced in area, while he put my boyfriend in a locked cell with thick bars. I also remember there was a grasshopper somewhere in that dream. I have been craving very fatty food (like McDonalds, and donuts, and just about anything deep dried) lately, although Ive been trying to avoid them as much as possible. I dont really have any aversions to any specific foods. As far as my family history goes, high blood pressure and diabetes run on my mothers side. Both grandfathers had cancer (one had skin cancer, but was removed and hasn't come back, and the other had lung cancer) . That is all I can think of for the moment, thank you so much for trying to help. I am not in a hurry to take anything before I am certain it is right for me.

I've had asthma since I was little. It is aggrivated by exercise and by allergies. My family has 3 dogs and 2 cats, all of which I am allergic to. When I take Advair about 6 hours before I go, I am usually ok for at least 4-6 hours, however if I forget to take it, I cannot even last a half hour. I do love animals, and would like to eventually have one of my own, but I realise that I have to get both my allergies and my astham under control before that can happen. As far as allergies, I am pretty much allergic to everything (no food allergies though). I have a chronic stuffy/runny nose, and no medication I have ever been on has been able to help it.

When I say that I get cold, I mean just generally my entire body. When other people are trying to turn on the air conditioning, I am usually reaching for my sweater. I typically leave the heat in my apartment on well into the spring and sometimes into early summer. Ive been wearing 2-3 layers of clothing lately.

Again, thank you for your help.

Please take 3 doses of Baryta Carb 30C on a single day.

1 dose = 2 pellets dissolved on the tongue. Space the doses by 3 hrs.

No eating/brushing of teeth for 1 hr on either side of the dose.

After these 3 doses, just wait and watch for 5 days, and then report back your status here.
