Shoulder pain

Hello, I appreciate any suggestions on this. I have always had a 'click' in my right shoulder, but it has never hurt before. In the last few days, it has started hurting quite badly. I will explain more as I fill out the two questionnaires I found here on the forums.

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?

A severe (rate about an 8 on a 1-10) shoulder pain (right shoulder). It is a sharp pain. It is worse in an upright or out to the side position. I can type without the sharp pain, but there is a present dull ache still. I can put the arm out and down, without pain. I can put the arm back without pain, but with a click in the shoulder joint, and when I bring it back forward after that the ache intensifies. Lifting increases the ache. Rubbing the shoulder is painful in the back of the shoulder, just below the bone. Rubbing it significantly intensifies the pain.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?

I have stress/tension pain in the other shoulder. I would rate that at about a constant 5. My neck is stiff and sore. I have a lot of knots in the shoulder and shoulder blade area. I have a mild (3 or so) sciatica when I lay on my back. My lower back aches if I sleep on my back at night. I am nursing a 1 year old, and my letdowns have been extremely painful lately. My nipples are unusually sensitive.

I have extremely dry skin, particularly on my forehead. My skin is very, very sensitive. My eyesight is poor. My eyes are sensitive to light, it is painful if it's bright. I am sensitive to sound, it is also painful if it's loud.

I feel like I am always cold. I am tired most of the time, though I get a good amount of sleep usually.

My blood pressure is extremely low and circulation is poor.

I have a lot of gas, bloating, and intestinal discomfort, despite probiotics.

My right elbow also hurts with any pressure on it.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

I am irritable in the extreme lately, for no reason I can really pin down (besides PMS). For the last couple of years I have been dealing with an old but ongoing and deeply emotional loss. I have a lot of pain and betrayal associated with it. I am distressed about finances.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? Describe the sensation in your own words.

The pain is a stabbing pain. I tend to respond to it with resentment. Both sides hurt, but the pain in the right shoulder is the strongest. I can barely function when it 'twinges' like that.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

It started about 2 weeks ago with my left shoulder getting painful from holding my daughter up once. Then the right shoulder was extremely painful when I got up two days ago. I cannot connect any event or anything to it.

A heating pad helps the left shoulder, but by the end of the next day, the pain is back.

I cannot for certain connect it to anything, but I have been having a lot of thoughts about when I was a small child and was wrenched around by the arm by abusive people I lived with for a few years.

Perhaps they are associated.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?

All day with the right shoulder. Evenings with the left.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? Example- time, temperature, pressure, rubbing, washing, eating, tight clothing etc.

Rubbing intensifies the pain significantly. Movement upwards or in certain angles intensifies it as well. Nothing seems to improve it.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

No. I am in PMS right now, but I think that has more to do with the backaches at night if I sleep on my back.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?

In general, I dislike cold and/or dry weather, and in fact I suffer pain in almost all of my joints when it is cold- my skin suffers when it is dry (cold or hot). Humidity agrees with me in general. I do not think that any of it effects the right shoulder.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

I am reserved and very intuitive.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?

Energized. I love thunderstorms.

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?

Yes, though I rarely get it, and do not ask for it.

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?

Light and sound. Smell I am sensitive to, but not particularly in a negative way. Indeed, i find many smells comforting.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
Weeping, talking to one self etc?

I used to bite my nails, but not any longer. I have dry scalp so I scratch it a lot. I tend to be irritable and snappy around PMS time.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?

I adore my husband. I love my daughter but I am also strugging with some things going on with her. She has been repeatedly trying to chew and unplug electrical cords and nothing seems to get her to stop. She is also pinching me during nursing, and is teething so she is very cranky. At Christmas, my MIL was displeased with her gift from me and made a comment that brought up some childhood issues (about me not being properly grateful- a very painful accusation constantly made against me as a child).

Other than that, I have no family.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?

I fear losing my daughter and my husband. I fear my financial situation. No repeat dreams.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?

Crave sweet and sour, as well as salt. Aversion to bitter.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?

Excessive.

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?

Less

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?

Allergy to olives. Intolerance to soy, pasteurized dairy (raw is okay- some of it, anyway), gluten.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?

I hardly sweat at all, even under excessive cardio.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?

Soft but not loose. Usually uncomfortable- bloating and gassy. Usually once per day, occassionaly twice.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?

I have difficulties getting back to sleep once awakened. I get to sleep at night by use of entrainment tapes, or I have a hard time. I side sleep, though I often find myself rolled over onto my back during sleep without intending to. Most often I sleep on my left side, curled up.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?

No, I have pain on intercourse, and my libido is very sporadic.

20. Do you have any strange, peculiar or unusual symptom or feelings? How are you different from others?

No strange feelings, though I am different in that the degree of suffering and loss I have experienced is extreme. Counselors have described my life history as 'a personal holocaust.'

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?

None

22. What major diseases are running in your family?

Diabetes, heart disease.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance.

5'6' tall, 135 pounds. I am in moderate shape, I do exercise every day. I am somewhat 'soft', not athletic looking. I wear glasses, have dark hair (looks oily, but is definitely not- it's very dry and staticy). Blue eyes, caucasian. Long fingers, short stubby feet, straight across the top (they call them Flintstone feet). Stereotypical hip/waist/bust ratio.

(For Females)
24. If your menstrual cycles are not normal, please describe the irregularities, like pains, moods, flow type, clots etc.

Very painful abdominal cramps during period. Irritability and stomach discomfort before menses. Increased gassiness and bloating during PMS. Periods are irregular (probably due to the nursing). Fatigue with PMS, decreases a couple days before the end of my menses. 'Nesting' behavior during menses (excessive cleaning). Significant increase in sugar and salt craving during PMS and ebbing during menses.

Second form (I will not repeat info):

Each symptom in as much detail as possible. For example, for a headache, describe the type of pain (ie sharp, dull, stabbing, pulsating etc etc)
Where each symptom is located (ie at right temples)
What first started it off (ie walking in a cold wind)
When it's worse (ie on seeing bright lights, on stepping, before period, etc)
When it feels better (ie lying down in a dark room, when warm, when cold)
Your sleep pattern and details of any recurring dreams.
What you are sensitive to (ie, heat, cold, touch, criticism, etc)
Your state of mind (fears, anxieties, attitudes, moods, etc)
Any desires or aversions for particular foods, and wether certain foods make you feel better or worse.
Details of any major diseases suffered in past.

Disease question is not answered yet:

I had 2 caesareans. I have endometriosis, though the symptoms have decreased since the last birth (I got a tubal ligation). I had gestational diabetes.

Detals of any reactions to other medicines taken.
History of homeopathic treatment if any.
All other symptoms you have (ie watering eyes, cold feet, thirst)

Covered this, I think. :)

I really apprciate any suggestions or thoughts! Thank you!!!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
get rid of your shoulder pains, you may take FERRUM MET 6C every 3 or 4 hours and when the pain reduces a bit, you may take FERRUM MET 30C twice a day for some 3 to 4 weeks.

i am suggesting this based on your inputs that you have just delivered a child one year back and thus may be a bit anaemic. there is a tendency of rheumatism in the joints in anaemic patients which can be cured by intake of iron suppliments.

you may not be able to assimilate iron and thus FERRUM would help you to retain iron, make blood and finally cure the pains.

along with shoulder pains, all other physical troubles also would be taken care by this remedy.

Thank you so much, rishimba! I definitely have a tendency towards anemia, so thank so much for the recommendation. :)

Is ferrum phosphorica the same thing? That was all that was at the store, and I was hoping to get going on it right away.

no, they are different remedies.

your remedy is FERRUM MET.
