Upper abdominal Pain

Hi there I'm 28 yrs old and have suffered with this problem for the last four years. I have this dull ache in the centre of my stomach area below my ribs and the right hand side just below where my ribs end the pain goes to my back also right hand side. The pain gets worse when I eat certain foods.Especially anything with sugar, wheat, any spices, tea, coffee.I have also noticed that if I am stressed or anxcious the pain starts up.I've had a cat scan, 4 gastroscopies,MRI scan, all the blood tests, X-rays.I've seen specialists, drs, homeopaths, chinese drs, had accupuncture, chinese herbs for months, seen two homeopaths one for two years and the other for over six months. With little difference. I am now seeing a herbalists and have seen some difference -he's given me some digestive enzyme tablets and different tablets.I've been seeing him for six months and still have this pain.Especially when I eat. This has started to affect my life in a big way. Also I've noticed that my hands get really cold when this pain starts. The pain stays there most of the time.I havent had any weight loss in this time period nor have I lost my deire to eat. I eat 5 small meals a day and exercise fairly regularly. I dont drink alchohol or smoke.I am 175cm and weigh about 68kg's.
I have also suffered from IBS since age 16. That seems to be under control, but still has it's moments.

All tests have been negative, which is good, but it's very frustrating because the pain is very real but no one can tell me whats wrong! The guy I'm seeing now says my esophagus has slipped and has caused a problem with food. But who knows????
Any views on what could be wrong??

Hi Faisal
I was using Lycopodium 24c and 12C for about five months with little change, I then was given Nat-Mur 12C which I used for a month with no change. I was given Iberogast and Yarrow (15 drops 2x day) with little help. I was then given Gastronol with no change.
Then something called S.T Pills, condition remainded the same.
I was put on to Digestive enzymes made from ( Pancreatin, Papain,Anise Fruit,Fennel Seed, Rutin,Bromelain, Trypsin, L-Chymotrypsin, Amylase, Lipase,Protease.) and something called DGL. These two things seem to make a bit of a difference but have only been taking them for about two months. Recently I been put on to something called Serrapeptase (ingredient: Serratia Peptidase) which hasnt made any notible difference.

Any suggestions?

Hi Andrew,
I came across your old post on abchomeopathy about your chronic abdominal pain, and I am wondering if you have been able to resolve it. I have a similar problem, and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

hands getting cold during abdominal pain clearly indicates Veratrum Alb. I have cured many with this symptom. Please take Veratrum Alb 30 (also buy 200 for future use), four pellets, every 15 minutes (up to 4 doses), next time when you get pain and write back.

Digestive enzyme (my preference is Pancreatin and not Hcl) is very critical to take to make sure what you eat gets fairly digested before any medicine cures the underlying cause.

Hi Reva V,
Thanks for the response, but I actually don't get cold hands with the pain. Sorry, I should have been more specific about my particular symptoms.

These are my symptoms, which have been chronic for the past 5 or 6 years (I am currently 36 years old):

1) Abdominal pain, which feels almost like muscle cramps or tension, and hurts more when I am standing. If I press down on the area, it hurts even more. It feels worse when I am stressed.

2) Abdominal bloating... Almost feels like my abdomen is like a balloon being blown up. Gets worse under stress. (Note: the abdominal pain and bloating is all day long, from the moment I wake up. So it's not just after eating.)

3) Sore throat (feels like a lump in my throat) and post-nasal drip, year-round.

4) Rapid heartbeat (tachycardia)

5) General feeling of nervousness in the body.

6) Frequent urination, especially earlier in the day (from waking until noon).

I feel that these symptoms are most likely the result of repressed anger and anxiety. There is a lot of anger trapped in the body, mostly due to my childhood (my parents fought with each other constantly, and my mother is extremely neurotic and manipulative).

I have tried a lot of things; I meditate every day, and have tried various herbs and acupuncture. Although meditation has helped me a lot, it has not helped my physical symptoms at all.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you,
Ian

Hi Lan,

Thanks for the details. I went with the beginning of this treat, without realizing it is 2007 post.

feeling of lump in the throat tells everything about your complaint. This feeling describes your digestive disorder. Please take Ignatia 30, four pellets in the morning (30 minutes before lunch) and another dose in the evening (30 minutes before dinner) and report back after a week with a good news. Ignatia is an excellent digestive medicine.

Hi Reva V,
Thank you for your suggestion. I took the Ignatia (30c) for a week, the way you recommended. (However, I did not take the digestive enzymes with it, because I am a vegetarian, and Pancreatin comes from an animal).

I did notice some improvement while I was taking it, but not a huge improvement. And now that I have stopped taking it, I feel exactly the same as I did before. Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you,
Ian

You have a four years trouble with a long history of trying different homeopathic medicine.

However small the difference is, you are moving in the right direction. Please take Ignatia 30, three times a day (30 minutes before each food) for another week and report back.

Please buy Asafoetida 6, but dont use for now. If 6 is not available for you, buy 30.

Dear Dr.Reva,
I think your prescription is perfect now only few doses of colocynth 200 (even if it is right side)should finish it off.

bapu4 last decade
Thank you Dear Dr.Bapu. I will certainly put your suggestion after this. I wish to give atleast 2 weeks of Ignatia to get the near complete benefit and you will see that the patient will take Colocynth 200 after this. Thank you for your advice.

You both are too kind. Thank you.

It is patient's blessing from their elders, sincere prayers and His grace bring their deserved result - prescribers have little to do here, if any.

Hi Reva V,
I have taken the Ignatia for about another week. I didn't take it on the last day because I got sick (very bad sore throat and chills), and for some reason I didn't think I should take the Ignatia.

Unfortunately, my abdominal symptoms are pretty much the same as before I started taking the Ignatia. I have purchased the Asafoetida 6. How should I proceed?

Thanks again,
Ian

Please take Lycopodium 6, four pellets in the evening, on alternate days (only 4 doses in a week) and write back in a week. This should dry your nasal discharge, address your frequent urination and abdominal bloating. We will recover your condition with a few follow us session.

Hi Andrewij

What is your status now. I am suffering from exactly the same disorder as you described (since 2008) - pain on the upper right side (rougly where the esopagus turns left into the stomach). At phase it was burning now it is more of a cramping or dull aching pain.

Samurainan.

Hi Samurainan,
I also tried to contact Andrew, the person who originally started this post, and never heard from him. I also posted several times here myself, and received some information on remedies to try. Unfortunately, none of them worked at all for me and I came to the conclusion that homeopathic remedies are not the right solution for my problem. I believe that it is emotional in origin; probably emotions buried deep within. I hope you find something that helps you, and if you do, PLEASE let me know!
Thank you,
Ian

Hi Ian

O.K. Just created a new post, in the hope somebody can give fresh advice. Your point with deep emotional origin could be quite true. Homeopathy should be ideal for such a condition. Will keep you in the loop. For now what seems to help is carbo veg (30) and nat phos d6. At least it gives some partial relief (even though the night waking is continuing now since years which is very frustrating).

Samurainan.

Hi

Just for the sake of curiousity. Did you ever try calc phos d12?
Helps me wonderfully however my voice gets hoarse/bass and my hair loss (patch on crown) gets bigger. Otherwise works very well just for the stomach problem.

Hi,
No, I have not tried that. I will look into it, although the side effects don't sound good.
Thanks,
Ian
