Pankaj Varma - Tooth Decay, Please Help

Hi

I have had pain in one of my lower front teeth - I think it is number 23 - for about two months. The tooth is sensitive to pressure rather than the agonizing type of toothache. My dentist says it has cavities below the gum line and either has to be extracted or have a root canal. I don't want to have the root canal.

I have been rinsing my mouth with colloidal silver which may have been helping and I have overhauled my diet along the lines suggested by Weston Price.

The pain continues however. It is not a bad pain. It is at this stage quite bearable.

I would really appreciate a recommendation of suitable homeopathic remedies.

Thanks
Regards
Russell

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Dear patient,

Please try silicea-30 (5 drops per dose thrice a day) for 2/3 days and report.

However I will welcome the advice of Pankaj also.

Hi Dr Mahfooz

I have taken Silica 30c for three days now and there has not been a significant reduction in the pain level. Maybe even worse particularly in the afternoon and evening.

I looked up Silica on the International Academy of
CLASSICAL HOMEOPATHY website and it appears to match my personality well.

Have you or Pankaj any further suggestions?

Sensitive to pressure, : Agar., ars., hecla., kali-bi.

Coupled with the possible abscess, hecla and Kali-bi only are indicated.

Hecla is generally found more useful for tooth troubles.

You try hecla in 6c potency, once in a day, maximum for six days and report.

Dear patient,
your statement

'My dentist says it has cavities below the gum line and either has to be extracted or have a root canal.'

My recommendation:

I have found STAPHYSAGRIA a very reliable remedy in the condition you mentioned above. Please trust on it and take it in 200 potency (5 drops per dose)two doses per day for three days and report.

Hi

I decided for better or worse to go with the Staphysagria. Could not get 200c over the weekend so got 30c and used that until I could get 200c. Have now taken the Staphysagria 200c for three days.

Have also applied electrotherapy frequency set to the area on three occasions.

The presumed abcess got worse over the weekend but is now much better although still some sensitivity to bite load and skightly to wiggling. Seems to fluctuate during the day. Definitely not ameliorated by pressure - the opposite, aggravated.

Where to now? Any further recommendations? I would like to avoid dental surgery. Have adopted an improved diet and improved dental hygeine.

please continue Steph for another week and report.

I have now continued the 200c Staph for a further week and there has been no further pain without physical aggravation of the tooth. The situation has improved over this time.

It is still slightly sensitive to being tapped or to chewing loads and the gum area at the root of the tooth has at times had a slight sensation when pressed though not obvious at present.

Any further instructions?

dear russell.
Good improvement. Please continue Steph-200 single dose daily for a week and come back with progress.

Hi Dr Mahfooz

Unfortunately the inflammation level has come up. Not much continuous pain but obvious swelling with pain when tooth is bitten on or knocked and when base of gum is pressed.

I have used electrotherapy frequencies every day and continued Staph 200.

I suggest you another remedy Heclalava-30 (3 drops per dose thrice a day for a week)

May I interrupt your discussion on teeth.
I am new to homeopathy and am wondering if these remedies you suggest are only for pain or will they reverse the decay or abcess?
THANK YOU.

Dear Russel,
I am sorry, I didn't see this thread earlier.

My own experience is that when there are spongy gums, cavities, root canal infection ....the two meds that help most are :

1. Mercurius Solublis 200
and
2. Kreasotum 200

Take both in alteration at one hour intervals.

You should get a noticable improvement within 24 hours.

It will be much better than most of the meds suggested here. (With due respect to all other respondents who have posted a reply here).

Best wishes

You may take following medicines and will notice positive improvement:-
- Kreosotum 200 two doses per day for a week
- Chamomila 200 again two doses per day.
Report after a week

Are these remedies just to control pain or do they eliminate decay and abcesses ?

Dear Pankaj Varma

Thank you for your reply. I have been using the Hekla Lava 30c and am still doing so. The pain and inflammation has diminished but is still present. I am away from home at present. When I return in a little over a week I will take the remedies you have recommended.

Thanks again

For spongy bleeding gums and tooth decay...including cavites and blackening of teeth...the first remedy is Mercurius Solublis to neutralise the miasmic taint in the patient's body.

This med itself cures a majority of the cases.

The next one to think of is Kreasotum.

That is why I have suggested these two meds in alteration. they work well in alteration.

Best wishes to all and happy festivites of the season.

Don't leave a medicine which benefitted you abruptly. Use it as long as it helps, and when it no longer helps rise the potency to 200c and try again.

Alteration is reserved for very special cases.

Routine advices like this, which we give when we are unable to choose a correct medicine, with the hope that one of them may work usually fail to deliver results.

The danger with these altenations is that the symptom picture may get intermingled with the medicinal symptoms, and may pose difficulty while choosing the next indicated medicine.

When we try on limited symptoms for localised affections, one medicine at a time is the best bet.

FOR TOOTH ACHE it doesn't happen so.
I have tried it on hundreds of patients (in alteration the two recommended meds)with a very high degree of success....whereas Murthy speaks only from bookish knowledge.

If Murthy had ever tried it on patients he wouldn't have uttered such words.

Some people never learn from past mistakes.....
there is a Bach flower remedy for them....only if they will treat themselves as a 'patient' first and 'doctor' later !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The relief from water doses is proved many times on this forum itself.

Show me a single thread where there is relief from these abominable alternations.

Knowledge from proper books when put to practice will definitely give results.

Please avoid discussing on personalities, but learn to discuss on the points rised.

I think you were told many times to stop making these squeaking noises.

Better to keep quiet if you have nothing more to add.

Murthy ,
You will do well to follow your own advice in the previous post :
