Remedies after dental treatment i.e after wearing braces for the first time.

Hello,
My daughter is going to get spacers for her teeth tomorrow and braces for her teeth next week.

Are there any homeo remedies to use after treatment for swelling and soreness?
i know two remedies which are Arnica and Hypericum. But I don't know what potency to give and how often. I have both in 200 , and 30 potency.

Can somebody please advice me?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Give arnica 30 not exceeding 6 doses after dental work.

I getting ready for a semi-annual dental visit coming up in 2 weeks. This time I am determined to catch up on the flossing! (Started 2 weeks ago.) I think what used to put me off flossing when I hadn't done it for a while was the gum discomfort afterwards. I would either take too much aspirin or suffer through it. This time on a few days I tried a single pillule of Arnica 30. Within a couple minutes the discomfort is almost entirely gone. As I understand it, Arnica doesn't act on the pain so much as it helps the pain indirectly by working on healing of the tissues. Aspirin doesn't do that! I'm somewhat hopeful the dental hygienist won't give me the usual Why Aren't You Flossing! lecture. I need to have more faith in the lowly 30C. ;^)

Unfortunately no, livex, you still have to floss. But until the gums are toughened up again it helps the traumatized gum tissue recover and alleviates the discomfort. For me almost immediately.

For getting up under the gum line I'm not aware of an alternative to flossing or dental pick.

One remedy that might help a bit is fragaria (strawberry). It is recommended for animals that have tartar build-up. It doesn't get rid of it, but it can help loosen it up so supplemental brushing might be enough.

I suppose the ultimate alternative would be pulling all your teeth. ;^)

Thanks for everybody who responded.

Yesterday morning she had 3 spacers put on her upper back teeth. I gave her 3 doses of Arnica 30 c. One dose just before putting spacers and 2 doses after spacers.

But the real pain started in the evening at 5 P.M(She got her spacers in the morning 8 o'clock.).

Then I realized that I am out of Arnica 30c. So I gave her one dose of 200c in the evening. But it is morning 6.30 now and she is still complaining lot of pain.

i have Arnica 6c. So should I give one more dose of 200c or should I continue with Anica 6c.

Thanks. All of you have been very helpful.

Invariably a good idea to give as a wet dose. You don't run out of pills that way (LOL), and by succussing before each dose there is less risk of aggravation.

Thinking back to what fun it was when I had braces put on, and not knowing exactly how they do it today, I wonder if something like Staphysagria would help. In my day it was metal sleeves that were put on each tooth and rammed into your gum line. Is that what a spacer is like? If so, it is almost like an incision. Staph can be good for the pain of surgical incisions and intense dental pain. Or maybe stick with Arnica, but a wet dose. (Not making a suggestion, more like thinking out loud...)

The other pain was the tightening of the wire that put pressure on the teeth. Is that the pain instead?

Sorry she's going through this!

Yeah Daisy, Those are plastic rings they put between the molars to get space between them. she is going to get braces on next thursday, i.e after 5 days from now.

So do you think i should give her Arnica 6 c , in wet dose?
