Tub Bov - Antidotes?

My wife was given tub bov and told to take it twice a day for 5 days. She took it for three days and felt very sick. Since that time (5 years ago), she has suffered severe respiratory symptoms and general debility (kidney pain), most notably blocked sinuses, coughing, chest pain at night for three months in the summer (the symptoms start each year at roughly the time of the year she first took the remedy). We have been unable to find anyone to treat this condition. All suggestions are welcome.

Hi Friends
The problem still persists. Like clockwork, in early December, the symptoms begin again. Still searching for ideas to unblock what seems to be unblockable sinuses. We think there is an underlying condition that is simply overwhelmed with whatever pollens are circulating at this time of year in New Zealand. We have tried hayfever and sinus remedies, but they do not work.
