2year old -ear infection prob
Is this forum dead? I really think that I can derive some useful help from here but don't want to post a detailed thread if nobody is going to see it. It seems that most of the posts are old ones.christiana29 on 2007-01-21

Actually it is for my 2 year old son not me. Here is our problem.
My son was born 2/12/04, he was full term and health. Till the age of 23months when he started at daycare he only had 3 common colds and one case of a skin allergy, urticaria. That was when he was 7 months and the cause was unknown but since then it did not reappear. When he started daycare at 23months, he got sick 2 days later. First it was tonsilitis (no antibiodics), immediately after that a common cold which let us to our first ear infection and our very first round of antibiodics (amoxicillin). He took it for 10 days, the infection dissappeared but after 5 days there was another ear infection in both ears. He took Tricef for 10 days, again the infection went away but our doctor put us on preventive treatment with an antibiodic called deprim (septra). He took that for 15days and then our doc said his ears were perfectly clear and there was no sign of the previous 2 ear infections. A week after we stopped that third antibiodic, he got ANOTHER ear infection and he is now on Augmentin. I want out of antibiodics! They don't work as the infection comes back a few days after we finish them. My son has been antibiodic-free for 2 years and he got 4 different antibiodics during the last 2 months. Please help me to get rid of this ear infection-antibiodic route which seems endless right now.
He got all his routine vaccinations and while he was on tricef for the 2nd ear infection he received Prenevar which is supposed to work against ear infections. However we had this third ear infection even after that vaccination.
He eats a lot of dairy but that was always so. Ear infections only started after he want to daycare.
He was late at hitting milestones, crawl at 16mo, walk at 19mo, he is also a late talker but his father was like that and other than that he is an active, smart toddler.

stop giving him antiboitics for every ear infection. in fact the recurrance of the infections is due to frequent administration of anti biotics.
start CALC FLUOR 30C three doses a day for some 2 to 3 days. once the suppuration dries up, stop the remedy. if the infection recurrs, give 3 doses of CALC FLUOR 200C.
also, because he is late in hitting the milestones, CALC PHOS 200C one dose per week for some weeks would help him a lot.

My son was also suffering from this disease for about 2'3 years when he was of 13 years. He remained under treatment of allopaths but no success only for the time being. I used the following remedies which cure him Alhamdolillah permanently:
Hep Sulph 1 M 1doze
Calc.sulph 30- 3times a day
Merc.Sol 200 1 doze night

Shall I stop augmentin? We are in the 3rd day out of the 10days it was prescribed. I've heard that stopping it earlier can cause more serious damage.

His ear has no pus or any liquid. Shall I still use CALC FLUOR 30C?
What about Chamomilla?
Also, since Iam totally new here are these remedies well tested? do they have any serious side effects?
